I would like to start out by thanking God for how blessed I am.
I'm sure many of you are wondering what happened to the girl that my sister nannies for right? Well it turns out that she was kept in the hospital until 1:00 A.M and attended school today. Morgan said the mother of the girl made it home around 10:00 last night and that the mother and child both acted like nothing had happened yesterday. While the girl was talking to Morgan she mentioned something about hearing voices. Morgan asked her if she hears voices in her head a lot and the girl stold her yes. When Morgan asked the girl what the voices told her she said they told her not to listen to other people, to do what she wants and sometimes even to do harmful things. This startled Morgan and she told her that she needed to tell her mother or counselor about these voices right away.
Since I last updated earlier today, not much has happened, except that I attended church at First Baptist Church Tallahassee with Morgan Skaggs and Amy Cline. Moving to a new city, regardless if you know people or not is always hard. It is hard to meet genuine, real people. Finding a church that felt like home and that I really felt welcome in was important to me and on the top of my to do list when I moved to "Tallaclassy". Last summer and last fall I attended a church that I thought I really liked. The music was good and some of my friends went there too, but I never really felt close to God. A few weeks ago Amy and another friend invited Morgan and me to the church that they attend. We went that next Sunday and I fell in love. The only regret I have is not finding it sooner. Tonight we went to the college age Bible study type meeting. The message was about man's practices versus what God says. One part of the discussion really spoke to me--it was about acting like Christians and not turning away from those who need Jesus in their lives. Part of being a Christian is interacting and having fellowship with other Christians, but it is also important to reach out to those who don't personally know God and to let them see his grace and love.
Looking back on my post from earlier and my post from yesterday, I can see how and where I can start to implement this in my daily life. God is great and we need to share his love with others!
