When we finally go to the class we found two seats separated by a few people, but in the same row. A few seconds after we sat down I looked and wouldn't you know it, the girl Morgan ended up sitting by was dating a guy that she dated! Can you say AWKWARD TURTLE!? I must admit, that is almost as awkward as BEING IN THE WRONG CLASS and HAVING TO LEAVE! Anywho, teacher was taking roll so we waited and waited. While waiting and listening to the rules I was online trying to see if a spot opened up so I could register. Then all of a sudden BAM--there was one seat available. On my phone I tried to hurry as fast as I could to get it! I put in the code and everything worked--but too bad it said I wasn't in the major yet, like my advisor assured me I would be! I was livid and I just didn't understand. Secretly Morgan and I were texting back and forth. I told her the situation and we decided I would stay after to talk to the teacher then go see my advisor if need be.
After class I talked to the teacher and we went upstairs to talk to the head person over attendance. She said I would have to speak to my advisor. So down the hall I went. When I got to the room there was a line--of twenty people--and no I'm not exaggerating. Morgan said she would stand in line for me while I went back to the first lady. When I got back to her office I told her about the line. She said she couldn't hold the class because other people were behind me--which there wasn't--and because people were sitting at their computers waiting to get into the class. I have two problems with this: 1. I was standing in front of her and went to the class, obviously I deserve the class before the lazy bums at home, and 2. It wasn't my fault the people didn't do their jobs and transfer me into the major after recieving the right amount of credits. She said she would call the advisor and have her transfer me into the major so someone else could approve it. She then gave me a number to call to make sure everything was fixed. When I got outside I called the number she gave me, which was supposed to be to the higher authority, well guess what? It was the number to the advisor down the hall and they didn't answer. Thank goodness Morgan knew of the higher advising authority so their office was where the next stop would be.
This next part is pretty cool, well not really, but the who line thing is. When I got to the office there was another fifteen people waiting, but fortunately they were waiting for something else so I got to skip them! Wooh-hooo! When I went in and talked to the lady I told her what had happened. On the way there I received the email saying I would get approved to be transfered. Since I got the email I figured she would have gotten it also, but she informed me she hadn't gotten an email. We tried calling the other office I had just been in but no answer, what's new. She couldn't figure out why she hadn't received the email yet so I took her card and gave her my name to contact me when it got approved.
After all of this I called the first number back, and they answered this time. I told the girl at the front desk my delima and she said I needed some form. Hold up girl, what you talkin about!? I told her I was never in a different major and no paperwork was needed. She said she would have to see and have someone email me. BLAH! Of course the next thing I did was called my mom and told her what had went down. She didn't understand and was about to call someone when all of a sudden I get a text from Morgan saying she got me into the class--she saved the day again! I told my mom I would call her back but not to do anything. I called Morgan and sure enough it was on my schedule and I was in the class! The only problem was that the lab time interferred with another class I was registered for.
It turns out the lab interferres with a class that I might get dropped from anyways. I started looking and found another class that I really wanted and was able to sign up for it and get it! The teacher emailed me and I told him I had just registered and not to drop me. I pray he got this email in time! He said he was going to drop the people around 1:30, it is now 2:00 and I just looked and it is still on my schedule!
I am currently at work and the day is looking up. I got a Coke-a-Cola and some M&Ms on the way here--it's the only thing I've eaten since earlier this morning. The rest of the day should be good, I just have to get my spanish stuff registered online and prepare for tomorrow!
I admit, maybe I was a little crazy when I registered for 21 hours, and call me crazy now because I believe that I can do it!
